Fancy Trying your hand at something new?
Get hands-on with metal and creativity in this fun and practical workshop where participants will use scrap and waste metals to design and create their own quirky characters and small ornaments.
Working with guidance and appropriate safety measures, participants will explore basic welding and soldering techniques while learning how discarded materials can be transformed into playful and meaningful creations.
This workshop encourages confidence with tools, creative problem-solving and a deeper understanding of reuse and material value — turning waste into something to be proud of.

Back by popular demand as part of our Artitude series of events:Join writer and facilitator Katherina Maria Kalinowski for an imaginative workshop exploring waste as a source of creative inspiration.
Rather than seeing discarded things as useless or forgotten, we’ll rediscover their hidden stories and poetic possibilities. Through guided writing prompts, discussion, and playful exercises, participants will experiment with language and form to reimagine our relationship with the material world.
This session invites curiosity, creativity, and reflection — transforming what’s been thrown away into something newly seen and celebrated.

Our free Craft Swap event last winter was a great success so we’ve decided to team up again with our Artitude partners to keep those creative materials in circulation.
Got leftover fabric, yarn, buttons, or paints? Bring them along to swap (or just come to browse what we’ve pre collected!) at our Craft Swap Evening at Repair & Share Foyle
